I have recently come across this annoying issue. Every time I created a site on my local server, it was showing me this error. I couldn’t find the real cause of the problem.

Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from wordy.dev (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).
NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

And after some researching came to know that the problem lies within my local domain name. My local domain was ending with .dev and found out that .dev domain is now owned by Google. Google forces SSL certificates on all its domains and every time you visit this URL you will get this error. However, this only happens in google chrome.

The solution to this problem is really simple. Just changed your domain name to something .local or anything else than .dev.
